Looking out my window,
Waiting.....
Waiting for it --
snow
I feel its grey heaviness in the air,
The expectation.....
That silent calm before the storm --
Snow
Finally, a few flakes here and there,
Falling gently, tenderly.....
and then --
SNOW!
Pure white confetti falling,
Riotously, joyfully....
onto my life's parade --
SNOW!!!!
Now with head thrown back,
and eyes closed,
Catching frosted ivory flakes
upon my tongue.....
I'm ten again!
If only for a moment --
Whoa!!
Snow!!
"Enjoy the little things in life....
for one day you'll look back and realize
they were the big things." ~ Robert Brault
Love this! Love this! So good!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shanyn! Funny -- this was so unplanned. It was just one of those Holy Spirit things, as if He nudged me and said, "Grab a pen and some paper, I've got something for you!" :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your poem. It was very well done! Loved it.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sandra! Like I told Shanyn, it was so very unplanned. I was just sitting there and WHAM! Had my camera handy to snap the snow as it was falling in my backyard, and even took one of the pics in my son's barber's parking lot. LOL!
ReplyDeleteThis was truly a lot of fun to do.
